I think both of these by W. Tozer are worthy of considerable reflection:

I'm not sure what comes to my mind when I think about God. Good things come to mind when I think about Jesus. I make a distinction. But I'm wondering if the thought still applies if it's about Jesus. I'd like to think it does. The second thought leaves me stumped as to its significance. Maybe it will come to me in my sleep.
ReplyDeleteI think Tozer was addressing the anti-intellectualism so often found in Christianity in that second quotation. I think he was saying that God gave us minds so we are not honoring God when we choose not to use them.
