A paradox

Artist: James Tissot

Oh my. There is just so much to this one:

Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.

-- Joseph Campbell

There is unbelievably rich material for reflection in this great observation. I'm very glad I found it.

  1. This reminds me of something I want to share. I recently watched the last few moments of a wonderful TV series "Friday Night Lights" about a small west Texas town whose football team and coach are the subjects around which is drawn some of the most wonderful material I have ever seen on the tube.

The team is getting the blooody hell beat out of them...it is truly heartwrenching to watch..."coach" has to forfeit the game...you could feel their pain... and then, slowly and very tenderly, the background music with sweet harmonies, voices and string chords begins...

"Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing"... I was in tears. So much was revealed in that scene that I am still pondering it. My mother and I, who watched it together, were singing the song in harmony for the next 3 or 4 days. It was truly memorable.

I strongly recommend that you view this progam. It's impressive.
